Judgement
January 6, 2007 at 8:28 am | In The things people say | 6 CommentsIf you haven’t heard about this, you’re either dead or my husband.
So many people so quick to judge. I don’t know whether I would make the same call in the same situation, but what I do know is that I am so very grateful that I don’t have to consider these issues. Seems to be a case of – damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

Exactly – We said basically the same thing. You would have to walk in their shoes for some time before you would have earned any right to make a comment either way.

First: I love your new custom header.Second: when one of my colleagues told me about that case I was horrified. Having read that however I think there are good things and bad things about it and that it really is one of those damned if you do damned if you don’t things. I do think maybe there are some issues involved that they haven’t considered but walking through life with disability is tough and they are doing the best they can.Third: Pillow Angel is a horrible term.

Hi Emma! i love the new header too – my sister K did it and surprised me with it.
I also am not fussed on the term “pillow angel”. It sounds horrible. But people also don’t like the term “terrible palsy” – I do cause we are aussies and can see the irony of it.

Hi. I just found your blog after following links from Dream Mom, and Mete at Special and Needy. I will bookmark it and be back to read through the entire archives!
I have 2 year old twins who were born at 24 weeks, and are both diagnosed with CP, one more severe than the other. Eden has mild spastic diplegia affecting her legs, and moderate to severe hypotonia in her trunk and neck. I am interested in reading more about Marshall and the treatments that you are trying. He, and both of his brothers, are absolutely gorgeous!!
Oh, and on the “Ashley Treatment”… I am torn on the issue. My gut reaction upon first reading about it was “what the hell how could somebody do that to their child.” But, as I’ve thought more about it and read multiple points of view I’ve figured out that it isn’t that simple. At this point in time it is impossible for me to relate entirely. My girls are both cognitively on track and I spend much of my days trying to get them to eat so they will GAIN weight. Sigh.
Glad to find you!
Billie

Hi Billie and welcome to our site. I’ve actually been reading your site about Holland and Eden for a while. I love the photos of them bowling. They are absolutely gorgeous!
